About Artist Allison Merriweather

Allison Merriweather’s style is an instantly recognizable fusion of folk rusticity and narrative dreamscapes. A vibrant pallet and slew of motifs are accompanied by her sense of humor that lends her work its signature sense of whimsy. Merriweather’s work is at once intensely personal and filled with universal themes.

                Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions, including the American Visionary Museum in Baltimore, Maryland and the Northplain Museum of Fine Art in Canada. Magazines such as Art Primitif and Houston’s own My Table have featured her paintings on their covers. Allison Merriweather was named Artscape’s best visual artist in 2005 and is the recipient of the a silver award in painting.

                She lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and a menagerie of pets as inspirational as they are unruly. Her current work can be seen  and purcheased at Outsiders Art and Collectibles in Durham, NC and St. Charles Art Gallery in Rockport, TX, as well as online at merriweatherart.com.
